Story Books
Zet de storybooks in om samen de spreek- en leesvaardigheid van de leerlingen te oefenen. Met dit oefenmiddel leren ze ook nieuwe woorden aan in de context van het verhaal. De storybooks kunnen uw klas net dat zetje geven om zich meer thuis te voelen in het spreken van een vreemde taal.
Opbouw + gebruik
Een grote verhaallijn hebben wij opgedeeld in 36 oefenmomenten. Een moment kan 5-15 minuten duren. Neem bijvoorbeeld samen het vocabulaire door om de tekst beter te begrijpen. Lees ‘voor-koor-door’ de tekst en stel begrijpend lezen vragen. Eindig ten slotte met een leuke afbeelding of leuk spel behorende bij de tekst.
Niveaus
Van de storybooks hebben wij drie verschillende niveaus: Discoverers, Explorers , Pioneers and breakthrough. Hieronder een indicatie welke niveaus in welke klassen zouden kunnen worden gebruikt:
- Discoverers: Groep 5/6
Rebecca lives in California. She meets Blake and some friends. The friends like parties, eating and playing together. They all go to the same school where they learn about money and writing. They also have time to have a lot of fun together.
- Explorers: Groep 6/7
Rebecca is moving to New Jersey. Together with her family, she leaves her friends behind and makes a road trip across America. On the way, they have a lot of adventures. They travel through a desert, see a volcano, and camp in the mountains. They also visit the Grand Canyon and much more.
- Pioneers: Groep 7/8
Rebecca used to live in California, but now she is living in New Jersey. Here she meets new friends, some of them come from other countries, so she also learns about their cultures. The weather in New Jersey is very different from California. Here they have bad storms and even hurricanes. Living without electricity is not such a nice adventure.
- Breakthrough: Groep 8 – VO klas 1/2
The Morton family has a new life in England. They have left their friends and family behind in America. The schools are very different in England and making new friends might not be easy. But Wyatt and his sisters Karen and Jordyn make the best of their new life. They are soon having exciting adventures although some are a bit too scary.
